Mia Aligners are clear, removable trays designed to gently straighten your teeth over time. They're discreet, custom-made to your smile, and a great alternative to traditional braces — no brackets, no wires.

Most treatments fall between R19,000 and R48,000, depending on how complex your case is. After your scan, we'll provide a personalised quote. Flexible payment plans are available if needed, on request!

It depends on your case. Some people finish in 6 months, while others may take 12–18 months. Once your plan is finalised, you'll receive a clear timeline for your treatment.

You may feel some pressure or tightness when you start a new set — that's totally normal and a sign your aligners are doing their job. This feeling usually settles within a day or two.

For the best results, wear your aligners for 22 hours a day. Only remove them when eating, drinking anything other than water, or brushing your teeth.

No — always remove your aligners before eating or drinking (unless it's plain water). Hot drinks can warp them, and food can stain or trap bacteria.

Not always! Some people might notice a slight lisp at first. This is common and usually goes away within a few hours as your mouth adjusts.

Rinse them when you remove them and use a soft toothbrush with gentle, unscented soap. You can also use aligner foams, cleaning tablets, non-abrasive toothpaste, or denture cleaner. Avoid hot water and coloured mouthwashes as they can damage or stain the plastic.

Chewies are soft foam tools you gently bite on to help your aligners fit snugly against your teeth. This not only improves the fit, but also helps apply consistent pressure where it's needed most. The chewing action creates gentle up-and-down forces, encouraging your teeth to move within the socket — a key part of how bone remodelling happens during aligner treatment. Use them daily to keep your aligners tracking properly and make your treatment more efficient.

Use your chewies and wear the aligner for an extra day or two. If it still feels off, don't switch to the next set — send us a photo or book a quick check-in.

Yes, we recommend seeing you every 6–8 weeks to make sure everything is on track and to make any small adjustments if needed.

Once your teeth are aligned, you'll move into retainers to help keep them in place. Most retainers are worn at night.

Sometimes, yes. Some aligners work with whitening gels, but your Mia dentist will advise you on whether this is suitable and which product is safest to use.

Pop in your previous set to hold things in place and contact us as soon as possible. We'll let you know whether you can move forward or if we need to reorder or repeat that stage.

Definitely! Just take your current set, your next set, your case, and your chewies. If you're going away for a while, let us know so we can help you plan ahead.
